• This course is designed to help improve your reading and comprehension skills.
  • Welcome to 8th grade Language Arts. In 8th grade, we will cover a variety of topics, including grammar, spelling, vocabulary and all genres of writing and reading.

    Expectations

    1. Be respectful of yourself, all students, and the teacher.
    2.Be ready to work as soon as you come into the classroom.
    3.Do your own work!Cheating is never acceptable.
    4.Try your hardest and be positive!
    5.Ask me for help when you need it.
    Materials 
    Every day you need to bring the following materials to class:
    1.a binder for homework and notes
    2.a notebook for homework and notes
    3.a copy of the current text (textbook or novel)
    4.a blue or black pen or pencil 
    What to Expect
    1.Reading – We will read short stories, poems, plays, newspapers, and novels 
    2.Journal writing – Students will keep write daily journal topics.Topics will be on the board when you come into class.You will have the first five minutes to write as much as you can, about a half page.Journals will be collected every Friday.
    3.Vocabulary words – We will study vocabulary words, including literary terms, each week.
    4.Book reports – Students will read at least one book outside of class per quarter.Extra books may be read for extra credit.
    5.Writing – We will study the fundamentals of writing paragraphs and essays.We will work on descriptive, narrative, personal and persuasive writing.

  • This class is for advanced anatomy and physiology. It is designed to be an independent study course.
  • This class will be designed to introduce students to Moodle along with introductory Spanish.

  • This course is designed for students to research possible careers and post secondary options as well as address improving their job skills.
  • World Relgions is a survey course about five of the worlds major religious traditions.  The course will include a study of Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, Judaism,  and Christianity.  The study  will look at the founders, history, writings, teachings, and practices of each. Some attention will be given to the history of religiron in America and its contribution to the nation's culture.

  •  Environmental Science I will focus on three main areas; land, air, and water.  We will use websites to help us learn about the impact humans have on our environment.
  • The four basic parts of successful living is NEWS - nutrition, exercise, water, sleep; the news is communication with others.


  • This is a technology class for BOLD seventh graders at meeting everyday for a trimester. Students will explore MicroSoft Excel. Students will also continue mastering their keyboarding skills using MicroType.

  • Destinos is a telenovela designed for new Spanish speakers.  You will learn, review and hear pure spanish with Raquel, Arturo and Don Fernando.  You will  also learn  more about the Latino culture with Raquel as she travels through Spain, Mexico and Argentina as she searches for Angel.   Each episode will have a vocabulary review and preview for the upcoming  program.  All asignments for Destinos will be completed on-line.

  • This course is designed to meet the requirement for Senior Social. In this class we will discuss similarities, differences, groups, institutions, norms, and values in our society and other societies.


  • A literature forum - where students can react and interact in an online community.
