Prerequisites:                        

Successful completion (above 80%) in first year accounting course that covers Century 21 Accounting Book through chapters 1-22.

 

Course Description:

This course is beneficial for any student who intends to major in any business field in college or would like to extend their accounting knowledge for personal reasons. 

Advanced Accounting continues the concepts taught in Accounting and expands on those concepts.  Students will be working with corporations that utilize departmentalized accounting.  

Students will apply these skills to projects and practice sets.  Students will be using online working papers and using accounting software to complete a project. 

Students in this course will be required to take a state approved test for Technical Skills Assessment.

 

College Articulation Credit Available – Accounting through Minnesota West Community and Technical College, Granite Falls

 Advanced Accounting grades are weighted 80% tests and 20% assignments.  If your district requires a Semester Exam grade, the Semester Exam grade is an average of all TEST scores from the two quarters.
